BOSTON - Fifty military moms to-be got the surprise of a lifetime when they attended the March of Dimes Military Baby shower last Sunday at the Boston Harbor Hotel. Wives of current Boston Bruins players and coaches were in attendance to present the moms to-be with gifts that included a brand new stroller and car seat.
The expectant mothers and their families enjoyed brunch, guest speakers that included a child safety expert, and raffles with prizes highlighted by a Zamboni made out of diapers and blankets.

In between the guest speakers that shared tips and tricks with the expectant mothers, the moms to-be were presented with various gifts that included essential baby supplies, as well as items like Bruins onesies and sippy cups.

Supporting the military is a cause that several Bruins players are passionate about, and the military baby shower was a way for their wives to show their support as well. Kelly Backes, Stephanie Bergeron, Naomi Krejci, Melanie Krug, Haley Miller, and Juliane Pandolfo mingled and shared stories about their pregnancy and parenting experiences.
One of the 50 expectant mothers that attended the baby shower was an active duty military member. The Bruins wives enjoyed talking to her and hearing about her experiences. They were excited to extend an opportunity for this mom to-be and her family to attend Military Appreciation Night on Thursday, November 10.
Most of the expectant mothers in attendance have moved around from state to state and live on military bases. This event was a way for them to sit back, relax and talk to other women who are going through the same challenges that come along with being a significant other of a military member.
