BOSTON - NESN announced today that Bruins forward Nick Ritchie has been named the winner of NESN's 7th Player Award. Ritchie was selected by a fan vote on NESN.com. NESN's 7th Player Award is an annual award presented to the Bruin who exceeded the expectations of Bruins fans during the season. A feature highlighting Ritchie's accomplishments, hosted by NESN's play-by-play announcer Jack Edwards, will air during NESN's intermission coverage of today's matchup against the Rangers.

Ritchie, 25, has produced 14 goals and 11 assists for 25 points in 53 games with Boston this season. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound left winger ranks fourth on the team in goals, eighth in assists and seventh in scoring.
He was acquired by the Bruins at the 2019-20 trade deadline from Anaheim and recorded a goal and an assist in seven regular season games with the Bruins after the trade. Ritchie scored one goal in eight playoff games for the Bruins in 2020.
Over his six-year NHL career, Ritchie has skated in 347 NHL games, compiling 58 goals and 78 assists for 136 points. He has added five goals in 27 career postseason games.
The Orangeville, Ontario native was originally selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the first round (10th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
In addition to the 7th Player Award trophy, Ritchie will receive $5,000 to donate to the charity of his choice. He will be donating to the MSPCA Boston Adoption Center.
Past recipients of NESN's 7th Player Award currently on the Bruins include Charlie Coyle (2020), Chris Wagner (2019), Charlie McAvoy (2018), David Pastrnak (2017, 2015), Brad Marchand (2016, 2011), Tuukka Rask (2010) and David Krejci (2009).
The 7th Player Award Sweepstakes winner is Stephen Goldthwaite from Raymond, NH, who will receive a two-year lease on a Subaru Forrester courtesy of Atlantic Subaru.
